Description: This icon belonging to the Mstera icon painting school and is determined by the standard features: a) the figures are light, as if extended to the heavens; b) classic background “stretched” - from blue to light-blue, and then to white; c) specific image of a landscape with slides and water.

Saint Irina (Penelope) is depicted next to her Guardian Angel. The Guardian Angel accompanied Saint Irina not only throughout her earthly life, but also after her execution.
The angel taught her faith in Christ and gave her the Christian name Irina, which means “Peace.”
After Saint Irina was executed by beheading for her faith in Christ, an Angel resurrected her and, by the will of God, took her to Heaven in a physical body.
