Technique & Material: Monolithic Board with an ark, dowels, gesso, egg tempera, gilding, drying oil.
Description: A beautiful icon in the ancient Russian style.
The icon is abundantly covered with solid gold. The crown is made with the gold leaf with the imitation of precious stones. The clothes are exquisitely painted with the melted gold. Baby's hair and inscriptions are also made with gold.
The icon is canonical and, despite the abundance of gold, all attention is directed to the faces of the Infant and the Mother of God. A personal painting is executed at the highest level.
This icon has a high collection and historical significance by level of performance and it's rarity.
