Technique & Material: Board with an ark, gold leaf, melted gold on the cutting clothes.
Description: This icon is an masterpiece of the Syzran icon-painting school. An unique monument in perfect state of preservation. The sanctuary impresses with the highest level of painting, even in small miniature nuances, despite its large royal size. Faces painting is executed in many layers. Virtuoso paleography with gold leaf.
The "business card" of this school is a running golden floral ornament along the husk of the image.
The size of each hallmark is only 5x6 cm! It's just incredible how it is possible to paint out such a delicate, virtuoso miniature painting in such a small size.
