As it is known there is dogma in the iconography that "the spiritual colors are the prototype of the earth colors. Earth colors - are the manifestations of the initial divine light in its descent and glow in the lower realms. " Thus the symbolism of each color in the palette are individually and specifically.
For example on this icon, examining the symbolic meaning of colors used here, we get the following meanings:
