Technique & Material: Board with the ark, gesso with engraving and stamping, tempera, melted gold, gold leaf, melted silver, drying oil. Fields and corners of the icon engraved and decorated with cold enamel technology.
Description: First-class work of art. Thin painting of faces, aristocratic
elegant silhouette of the figure, the color is based on a combination of open pure colors: Purple cinnabar and emerald green tunic, decorated with melted silver.
The plot of the icon depicts the Apostle and Evangelist St. John during the writing of his book the Revelation of Apocalypse in Patmos. Angel dictates (whispers) in the Apostle ear the text of the Divine Revelation. Angel is pictured on the shoulder of the saint.
