The Mother of God of Vladimir.
The second half of the 17th century. Around 1650. Central Russia. Kostroma (?)
Size: 31,5 x 27, 5 cm.
Technique & Material: Solid board with the ark, gesso, tempera, drying oil.
Description: Icon of the highest art level. Work of ancient iconography. The author made very expressive faces of the Mother of God and Child Emmanuel (Christ). They are very volumetric, with the unusual and somewhat exaggerated - big beautiful eyes.
Perfect state of preservation.
