"St. Nicholas the Miracle-worker on a foreground of a monastery" 19th century. Central Russia(?)

Size: 11,2 x 9,3 x 1,1cm Description: Saint Nicholas is depicted at the foreground of a monastery. The top part of the composition displays the hovering angels in whose hands is an icon of the Mother of God of Kazan. The borders of the icon are decorated by an intricate geometrical ornament, made using a method of cold enamel cast over a silver leaf. A very rare subject.
