Technique & Material: Board with the ark, gesso, tempera, drying oil.
Description: Very interesting icon. Expressive colors of clothes are contrasted with rather dark faces of saints with active lightening. That's why faces of St. Paisius and St. Onufry acquire special dynamics and charisma.
On the top part of the middle-part (srednik) there is the image of the Jesus face on ubrus - icon of the Holy Face.
Sv.Paisy - honoured and very beloved saint in the Russian Orthodox tradition. Revered as a miracle worker.
St.Onufriy, early - Christian saint, an Egyptian ascetic - hermit of the 4th century. Also revered as a saint - as a miracle worker in the Coptic and in the Orthodox and in the Catholic traditions.
