Description: Exquisite paintings in the best traditions of the elite direction of the Moscow school.
The powerful figure of St. John on olive background. Standing on a cliff top, with huge angel wings, St. John raises his right hand in blessing, holding a scroll and the eucharistic cup with the sacrificial body of the Christ.
Icon is made by the thin afloat tempera, gold of the wings is strengthened with white and dark blue strokes.
Unique miniature detail - small tree, even the leaves which are also made with gold leaf with the polishing.
The perfect state of preservation of the painting. A stunningly beautiful icon, that has the highest museum and collector's value. The standard of the Moscow school.
Oklad has silver scrapes.
Provenance: Private collection of the famous Estonian artist, which she started collecting back in the 30s of the 20th century.
