Description: Gavriil Efimovich Frolov (1854'- 1930) Famous icon painter and the founder of the icon-painting school.
The icon is painted in the ancient and elitist Stroganov style of icon painting, which was carefully followed by the Old Believers icon painters from the circel of Frolov school. Gavriil Frolov has founded the first workshop of icon painting in Prichudye (Southern Estonia), which became the school for many outstanding icon painters of the late 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century - P. Safronov, M.Myznikov, D. Polyakov, N. Glukhov.
This icon has exceptional class and school of icon painting. It has ideal state of preservation.
