Description: Most likely, the icon was painted in an icon-painting workshop of some remote monastery of Volga area. Despite of its non-capital origination, the painting is of a sufficiently high level with application of silver leaf (that was an expensive material) for decoration of the background; the borders are ornamented by ‘cold enamel’ and engraving, creating an imposing and elegant appearance.
