Large-sized icons, so-called “temple” icons, are characterized by high spirituality and were most often commissioned by priests or deeply religious people. Such icons were intended for Temples, home churches, as well as for large home iconostases. The large size of the icons allowed icon painters to create not only large-scale but also very deep images of the Savior, the Mother of God, and saints.

This is a major and main collection of icons of our gallery. All the icons of the seasonal collections of our gallery after some amount of time are located here (except icons that were sold, there are located in the Already Sold collection).
