This very rare double-sided cruciform icon from the first half of the 18th century is a true masterpiece of sacred art. It is one of the church's most sacred relics.

The delicate iconography, austere, noble palette, and profound prayerful power make it a precious testimony to the faith and devotion of ancient icon painters.

The double-sided icon signifies that it was intended to be carried in processions (religious processions) on the feast of Easter and the Resurrection of Christ. When an icon is carried before worshipers, it is important that the image be visible both in front of and behind the worshipper.
