"The Mother of God "Tenderness"."

Middle of the 17th century.

Size: 29,5 x 24,0 x 2 cm.
Technique & Material: Board with the double ark, gesso, egg tempera, drying oil.

Description:  A classic example of the ancient Russian icon painting. Nimb of Mother of God is decorated with floral ornaments, which are characteristic for the 17th century. The icon is painted by a talented icon painter of the 17th century.

Good state of preservation for such an old icon.

Provinance: private collection. The icon was brought from Arkhangels in 1973.
