Description: The highest level of painting. A number of specific nuances in the technique and manner of painting is inherent to the icons from City of Romanov, Yaroslavl region. Romanov school was highlighted by researchers recently. It was an art organization , community of icon painters. There was not so much painters, but they were very strong and talented. All the icons from Romanov's school are characterized by the highest professionalism and creative researches, although of course within the canon.
The face is made into a variety of melts in the technique of ohreniya . Rich color palette. Clothing of Mother of God and of the Child are lavishly decorated with melted gold , tittles have impressive look. ( capital letters or abbreviated name of the Mother of God) in round red medallions on the background of gold leaf.
This combination which gives the effect of " flaming " red vermilion on gold - one of the favorite combination of Romanov masters.
Unfortunately, very small amounts of such icons are stay "alive" to this day. Each icon without exaggeration is precious.
