Technique & Material: Board, gesso , tempera , drying oil.
Basma and precious design - around 1800 : Silver , embossing , hot cloisonne.
Tsata : Silver , gold-plated , precious stones.
Description: Painting is made in the traditional medieval manner in the strict canonical rule. Silver Basma with enamel plates , halo with the suspension " tsata " decorated with semi- precious stones.
Noble Face of Christ is elongated and with regular features. It is created by smoth shading. Very high level of execution of the painting and jewelry work.
Very significant icon in antiquarian - art and in the sacred - religious sense.
Extremely rich jewelry Decoration was made and added later to the icon .
This suggests originality , exclusivity of this icon, possibly as gratitude for the miracle happened by the prayers of it.
