Technique & Material: Board with dowels, levkas, tempera, melted gold, golden assist, enamel, drying oil. Open frame (basma) and tsata - brass, gilding, silvering.

Description:  Nice layered personal painting. A rich golden assist decorates the clothes of Saint Nicholas the Miracle-Worker. The gospel, the collar and sleeves of the robe are decorated with enamel paints imitating precious stones.

Basma and tsata harmoniously complement the icon. Basma was completely covered with gilding, which is well preserved. The tsata gilding has been preserved completely. The nimbus is covered with a thick layer of silver and decorated with blue stones.

The nimbus, tsata and fields are skillfully decorated with engraving and embossing.

The painting was cleared of the darkened layers of drying oil.

The icon has a very good original state of preservation.

The icon has historical, collectible and sacred value.
