Description: The image of the Christian saint Paraskeva, which in Greek translation is Friday. In Russian folk understanding it intersects with the pagan Goddess - Makosh. The Christian Paraskeva replaced Makosh, but in the people minds she did not disappear.
Day of the week that patronizes Mother Makosh is also Friday. This is a special day associated with a variety of customs: for example in this day it is forbidden to sew and spin. She is womens defender, helps women, weaves their fate together with her daughters: Share and Not share. Patroness of weaving and needlework, patroness of harvest and fertility. People were prayed to her for multiplication of the family, the birth of more children. Saint Paraskeva loves hardworking and punishes lazy ones.
