"Annual Menaion."

Technique & Material: Cypress board, ground, gold leaf and melted gold, drying oil.
Description: A huge annual menaion icon, which includes in whole church year of 12 months with all the celebrated, for every day saints and holidays. Each of the hundreds of faces on the icon(each face is no more than a match head) has a clearly discernable difference and mood. Titanic work was done by the master to create this icon.
Annual Menaion icon with scenes from the Resurrection and the Passion of Christ. The central part of the the mullion depicts scenes from the Passion of Christ and the Ressurection. The New Testament scenes frame the images of the saints in the order of the months they are honored.
The Menaion is framed by 100 (!) iconographic versions of the icons of the Mother of God.
Perfect original state of preservation. The icon is under the original drying oil, which has not darkened with time.
The icon has the highest antiquarian and religious significance.
