Description: Kirill (in the world, known as Constantine with the nicknamed the Philosopher) and Methodius (in the world, known as Michael) - brothers from the city of Salonica (Thessaloniki), creators of the Slavic alphabet, the creators of the Church Slavonic language and the preachers of Christianity.
They are canonized and are venerated as saints in the East and the West. In the Slavic Orthodox they are particularly honored.
