Description: Seeking Out of the Lost - one of the rare and special icons of the Mother of God. Creating an image refers to the 17th century. The name of this icon was inspired under the influence of the story "About repentance Theophilus, the housekeeper of the church in the city of Adana » (7th century): while Theophilus was praying before the image of the Mother of God, he named it "Seeking Out of the Lost."
People pray to this icon for the children, their health and wellbeing, but also about people in difficult circumstances. A feature of this icon is that it was written by Dutch artist who came to St Petersburg in the end of the 18th century, who took Orthodox and became a personnel icon-painter. This icon has rare recension and a high collection value.
